Name: DOT'S Pretzel Brittle

Ingredients: 1 1/2 tsps baking soda; 1 tsp water; 1 tsp vanilla extract; 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar; 1 cup water; 1 cup light corn syrup; 3 Tbsps butter; 1 1/2 cups peanuts; 3 cups DOT'S HOMESTYLE PRETZELS Cinnamon Sugar Seasoned Pretzel Twists, broken into pieces

1.

Heat oven to 200F and grease two baking sheets with butter.

Place baking sheets in the oven to keep warm.

3.

Mix 1-1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp of water and 1 tsp vanilla together; set aside.

4.

Stir together 1-1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup water and 1 cup corn syrup in 3-quart saucepan.

Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally to 240F on candy thermometer. Can also be measured until small amount of syrup dropped into very cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from water.

Add in 3 Tbsps butter, 3 cups pretzels and 1-1/2 cup peanuts.

Stir constantly until thermometer reaches 300F or until a small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water separates into hard, brittle threads.

8.

Immediately remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda mixture until light and foamy.

9.

Pour half the candy mixture onto each cookie sheet and quickly spread to about 1/4 inch thick.

10.

Rearrange pretzels and peanuts with two forks if needed.

11.

Cool completely; at least 1 hour.

12.

Break into pieces and store in a covered container.
